Review by Savvy Vegetarian: A personal Indian cookbook - recipes that a traditional Indian cook makes for her family at home. Many of the recipes are vegan, most are simple and relatively easy, with clear directions. There's a large section on ingredients, which is invaluable. Paakam has a table of contents, but no index. However, this is a short cookbook, so that isn't a serious drawback. The recipes are divine!

Paakam is listed in the favorite cookbooks section.  For a detailed review:

Review by Mystic Living Today:

This 123 page Indian style vegetarian cookbook, just blew my socks off, it had absolutely everything I needed to make yummy and very healthy stuff. In the front their was a helpful chart on herbs and spices, and there was even a hotness gauge so I could tell how much to use of what. Another great feature was that it was in color throughout so the entrees looked so mouthwatering I wanted to run to the kitchen and cook about 10 dishes at once.

The recipes with their step by step format were clear and easy to understand, and at the bottom of each one there was a section on nutritional information, so I could walk away knowing I was serving something healthy to my loved ones. My favorite was the section on Legumes and I found the chart and pictures very informative. I would recommend this extra special treat to anyone who is health and creative conscious whether they are vegetarian or not. Thanks Anu, I am sure this book will be in my family for a long time.

Wonderful and inspiring
I was lucky enough to meet Anu several years ago and to sample her delicious cooking. It is truly home cooking from India and I know that she has spent countless hours with family perfecting these for the Western kitchen. I highly recommend this book.
